Imagine holding a fragile eggshell in your hand and being able to turn it into a piece of art or take a gourd from a garden and clean, sand, polish and carve on it, maybe add some color or woodburn an area until it becomes something someone wants in their life.
This is what my studio is all about. Meeting this challenge brings such exhiliration….I walk thru the studio door with a smile on my face ready to try one of the neverending ideas that flow or create the piece you asked for…always looking forward to the next piece or challenge. It doesn’t get any better than this.
My goal is to create pieces that will bring joy–smiles and happiness to those that have them. Maybe you’ll be sipping your coffee and watching a momma bird feeding her babies from a simple gourd birdhouse. Perhaps you are looking at a more complex piece like a carved ostrich egg you received with a ribbon around it holding a special ring. I want to meet the challenge of creating memories and stories through art that you can pass on to family or friends. You can also laugh over a piece that has something on it that reminds you of a place you went or something you did.
Here in the studio I work with a variety of media–eggs, gourds, glass and wood. You are invited to look at the work thru the site here and to also email me with any ideas you may wish to have done. There are no charges for estimates. New pieces are added on a regular basis so be sure to check back.
